Running parallel with the development of society, global warming has been receiving a great deal of attention by virtue of its substantial impacts on Earth. Although the idea of coexistence between humans and climate change appears reasonable, this cannot be viewed as the ultimate approach to humankind to combat this phenomenon.

There are a host of reasons why the coexistence is fraught by pitfalls. First, the corollary of global warming will be melting the ice cap which gives rise to sea levels to rise. This means that such a raise would submerge multiple islands, thereby making humans uninhabitable. Second, dealing with the future consequences of global warming can be disastrous. For example, the increment in intensity and frequency of extreme climatic conditions such as hurricanes, droughts, and typhoons can induce gargantuan destructions and deaths, which would take decades to recover.

There are a number of remedial actions for both the government and individuals to withstand climate change. First, since the skyrocketing level of carbon dioxide which arises from the combustion of fossil fuels directly correlates the intensification of global warming, authorities should take steps to allocate financial resources  to develop renewable resources of energy. For instance, scientists believe that biofuel we would extract from algae could substantially contribute to a diminished need for fossil fuels, whereby improving our carbon footprint. Second, by changing their habits, individuals can mitigate the phenomenon. For instance, humans can use recyclable bags in lieu of plastic in order to reduce global warming.

In conclusion, preventing climate change is regarded as top priority. Thus, authorities and citizens need to join concerted efforts in combating global warming.
