Topic: Nowadays  technology is increasingly being used to monitor what people are saying and doing (for example, through cellphone tracking and security cameras). In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that this is happening.

Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

It is evident that the world’s population has risen continuously since the early 20th century. Although this problem is regarded as the crucial concern of humanity due to technological development or social policies, in my viewpoint, climate change is an accurate challenge which people have to address.

It is acknowledged that technological advancement gives many impacts to the outbreak of population. Since the availability of technological equipment, residents can not only have more opportunities to maintain their health and ideal diet, but the support of machines also help them reduce the intensity of work. Therefore, life expectancy of the population has increased which leads to overpopulation. Moreover, it is certain that these problems have to be solved because of many consequences. The population has risen which results in the overconsumption and increase in environmental depletion such as deforestation or illegal hunting.

Whilst overpopulation is one of the most concern, climate change has become the biggest risk for both ecosystems and social life. Firstly, climate change is the cause of natural disasters such as floods and heatwaves. It is exemplified that the heatwave hovers on the air is the culprit of the increase in the patients in the hospitals and the rise of fatalities. Furthermore, climate change affects industry and economic development. It is a fact that many crops are damaged by drought, long-lasted heat and the torrent of floods.

In conclusion, the rising population due to technological development can be the concern of the community, nevertheless, climate change should be the priority of society to address aforementioned problems.
