IELTS Task 1: The graph below shows female unemployment rates in each country of the United Kingdom in 2013 and 2014

The given chart demonstrates the percentage of women who don’t have jobs in the four countries of the UK in 2013 and 2014.

Overall, the unemployment rate of females in 2013 is higher than that in 2014. England and Scotland are the two countries that had the highest number of unemployed women in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

In 2013, the percentage of unemployed females in England was 6.8% and this number dropped marginally by 0.7% in Scotland. Just under it was Northern Ireland with 5.6 per cent, while Wales had the lowest proportion at 5.4 per cent.

In the year after, there were slight decreases of 0.3% and 0.4% in the unemployment rate of England and Wales in turns. Northern Ireland experienced a dramatic fall to 4.6 percent of women out of jobs. On the contrary, Scotland was the only country having more unoccupied women with the percentage of 6.7.
