In many parts of the world, children and teenagers are spending more and more of their time indoors. What do you think are the causes of this problem? What measures could best be taken to solve it?

 

How children spend time is always a concerning issue in our society today. It is irrefutable that there is more common for teenagers and children to spend their time indoors than outdoors.  Supporting this phenomenon, I raise some causes and equivalent solutions mentioned in this essay.

The first reason is that countries and territories tend to be overpopulated, especially urban cities. Therefore, air pollution is a big concern for city dwellers. They suppose that it is better for their children’s health to stay indoors than going out and inhaling contaminated air. Governments always put this issue on top. The leaders strive for raise people’s awareness of using public transport or bycicles instead of their own cars and motorbiles. Moreover, parks should be considered to have priority over roads and buildings. Therefore, there will be more green space in the city, which motivates young people to go out and take part in outdoor activities.

TV programmes and internet are attributed to preference of staying at home. There are numerous attractive channels on both TV and on the internet that force adolescents to immerse themselves in watching films for playing computer games. It is obvious that it is more and more popular nowadays. To deal with this issue, parents should control the amount of time their chilren waste on Tv or computers. It is suggested that before going to work, parents need to shut down the connection of the internet. In addition, kid channel producers ought to stop broadcasting programmes sometimes, for example 3 times per month. Thus, aldolescents have no motivation to keep them indoors the whole day.

In conclusion, not taking part in outdoor activities is popular among young generations today. There are some typical reasons and some certain practical solutions that are mentioned in the writing.
