Overall, there is a general fluctuation in 2 trends. Over a period of 20 years, the unemployment rate and the total number of migrants in the year 2008 decreased.

In terms of the unemployment proportion, it stood at 17% in the first year-the highest number in 20 years. Over 10 years, there was a significant plunge in the rate of unemployment. Noticeably, it surged well 2% from 1990 to 1992. After that, the percentage of unemployed people declined gradually. It peaked at approximately 5% in 2000. The trend remained over 8 years and reached 6% in the last year.

From 1988 to 1990 and from 1994 to 2003, there was a substantial plummet in the figures for migrants. Similar to the unemployment rate, the number of people leaving the country was the highest trend over 20 years. In the year 1992, the figures increased steadily and just below 10000 people. Specially, there was a dramatic surge between 2003 and 2008. The figure stood at 50000 people in 2008.
