The table below shows social and economic indicators for four countries in 1994, according to United Nations statistics.

Describe the information shown below in your own words. What implications do the indicators have for the countries?

The provided table illustrates social and economic for four countries Canada, Japan, Peru, and Zaire which reported by United Nations statistics in 1994. Generally, the four countries indicated a significant difference in their number of each indicator.

 

It is clear that the numbers are higher in two developed countries Japan and Canada meanwhile the numbers of Peru and Zaire were far lower. In details, the annual income per person (in US dollar) of Canada and Japan were almost 10 times over Peru and Zaire. The life expectancy of Canada was 76 and Japan was 78, which nearly twice as Peru (51) and Zaire (47). The consumption of calorie daily per person of Canada was 3326 and Japan was 2864 which double the number of Peru and Zaire (1927 and 1749 respectively). Lastly, the rate of adult literacy was very high, and exactly the same between Canada and Japan (99%). On the other hand, the rate was lower in Peru (68%) and Zaire was nearly a third of Canada and Japan.

 

In conclusion, Canada and Japan, two developed countries held excessively number of each social and economic indicators compare to undeveloped countries Peru and Zaire.
