The given chart describes the percentage of people aged 65 and over from 1940  to 2040 in different countries.

Overall, it is crystal that the proportion of people aged 65 and over in Japan, Sweeden and USA increased over the period. The older people in Japan took up the highest percentage, by contrast, these people in USA is the lowest percentage in 2040.

The population aged 65 and over in USA and Sweeden increased sharply from in turn as 8 percentage to 15 percentage  and 6 percentage to 14 percentage between 1940 and 1980. After that, the percenatge of population in USA is slightly decreased from 15% to 14% in 2020. Besides, the propotion of senior people in Sweden rose to 20% during this period. The percentage of elder people in both countries is continute to grow after that.

The proportion of people aged 65 and over in Japan had unchanged from 1940 to 2000 with 5 percengate. The percentage of people, who aged 65 climbed significantly to 10 in 2020 and reached a peak with 27% in 2040.
