The pie charts illustrate the proportion of expenditure in an UK school on 5 different categories in 3 years: 1981, 1991, 2001.

It is clear that the spending on teacher's salaries was by far the highest of five factors, while insurance factor constituted the least.

In 1981, two fifths of school spending was for teacher's salaries, which then rose up by 10% in 1991. By contrast, there was a mild reduce in the expenditure of worker's salaries, which proven by the decrease from nearly a third to 22%. Furthermore, the same trend was recorded in the amount of money that resources and facilities costed, with minor drops of 5% and 7% respectively. An insignificant contribuition of insurance factor experienced a slight climb, which made the figure for insurance spending increase by 1%.

School tended to expand the expenditure on insurance and facilities in 2001, while the salaries for staff and the cost for resources were lessen. Fourfold as much money was charged for facilities in 2001 as they did a decade ago, likewise, insurance's expenditure nearly tripled. On the other hand, the spending on resources was roughly halved, while that on staff salaries had a slight decline approximately 5%.
