After finishing high school curriculum, teenagers tend to be encouraged to make a journey or do some jobs lasting a year before going to university. In this essay, we will analyse both positive side and negative one of the aforementioned issue.

On the one hand, travelling and working can bring experiences beneficial for students after graduating. Most companies these days always require those people having experiences in working while employing. Thus, spending a period of one year after applying to universities will be an ideal choice. Moreover, on top of that, after having spent twelve years studying constantly, young people can take advantage of this time to relax. Take the example of students going directly to universities after high schools, they will feel more exhausted than those ones taking a gap year.

On the other hand, there are also some drawbacks of this issue. If youngsters tend to spend a year stopping to study, their capacity will be diminished. For instance, during the state of Covid -19 these days, it has just lasted for months, but some students have started to be mitigated their memory and forget the knowledge at school. Furthermore, the things they have learnt for twelve years will be gradually lost in oblivition. Therefore, it will be a difficult time when they try to acquire the curriculums at universities.

To summarize, this issue has both pros and cons, so the choice whether teenagers should go to work or travel before being students or not depends on the perspective of each person.
