Nowadays, the question of whether should be spent on researching other planets to live, such as Mars has been receiving a great deal of public attention. I disagree with this statement.

There are some reasons why the Earth becomes difficult to live. First, since recently problems encountered relative contamination such as water, air, soil, and natural disasters like storm, earthquake, drought. This means that these problems have impacted each other to cause climate change, it intensifies natural disasters, which leads to cause global warming. Secondly, another reason is that global warming is largely shaped by human activities, including exhaust fumes from vehicles and gas emissions from factories, rather than nature itself. This means that unless humans take responsibility for their impacts on the environment, it would trigger big losses to humankind.

There are a number of reasons why the coexistence can do more harm than good. First, since the sustainable development of a nation requires to have many investments in many fields, paying for space projects can put more burden on national budgets. In fact, the governments need to fund properly for many key areas, such as healthcare, economy, education, which implies that investing in researches for extraterrestrial life with no guarantee to success is implausible. Second, by improving people’s awareness, they will be responsible for what they did. For example, the government has to enact laws about the environment and give penalties to lawbreakers, develop a low-carbon economy by using renewable energy, galvanize people to use fuel-efficient machines, with the companies must invest in waste disposal treatment and should produce eco-friendly alternatives, and with individuals consume less, recycle more, especially must be highly aware of environmental protection.
