Question

The graph provides information abou the main reasons for land degradation in the world. Globally, animals and deforestation totally caused 65% of land degradation. Over cultivation accounts for 28% and the least, 7% is the number that other factors accounts for.

These causes put diffenrent effects on different regions in 1990s. the main reason that caused land degradation of Europe was deforestation ( 9.8%) while the in North American and Ocenia, the effect was lighter (0,2% and 1,7%).  About the over-cultivation, it cause the biggest impact on North American( 3,3%) while it completely didn’t affect Oceania, this number in Oceania was 0% and in Europe it is 7,7%, 2 times greater than that in North American. About the over-grazing, Oceania mainly suffered from the impact of animals, over-grazing in this country accounted for 11,3% while in North American, this number was just 1,5% and in Europe is 5,5%.

Overall, Europe was the country which had the  highest overall percentage of land degraded (23%) , Oceania was 11,3% and North American was the least(5%). It is clear that Europe suffered more from land degradation than other regions and the main reasons was deforestation and over-cultivation
