The chart below shows the total numbers of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories from 1995 to 2002.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.


The bar chart  below compares the different type of telephone calls in UK using by UK residents between 1995 and 2002.

Overall, It is clear that Local - fixed line is the most common line in UK during the time period, while mobiles are still the least popular at the same time. The gap between the three categories had narrowed considerably over the second half of period.

Local - fixed line were the highest throughout the period, rising from 72 billions minutes to reach a peak with 90 billions minutes in 1999. After that, it saw a gradually decrease from 90 billions minutes to over 70 minilions minutes in 2002. National and international - fixed line is the second popular line which rised steadily from under 40 billions minutes in 1995 to over 60 billions minutes in 2002.

Mobiles calls witnessed a significant increase from 2 billions minutes in 1995  to 45 millions minutes in 2002. The growth was particularly noticeable between 1995 and 2002, which is also the main factor narrowed the gap between three categories of UK telephone calls.
