Đề:Some people think movies should only be for entertainment. Others think that they should also have educational values. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
There are differing views about the purpose of watching films. While some people consider films to be a source of recreation, I believe that films are beneficial to people in terms of obtaining some educational values.
Films are a mean of entertainment. It cannot be denied that nowadays, people are busy with their works from housework to office work which lead to their stress and pressure. Therefore, it is suggested that seeing a movie is one of the best ways for people to release their stress, feel relaxed and be mentally healthier. In addition, there are numerous sorts of genres of movies such as comedy, which make people laugh more and think about their works less. All in all, it is understandable that why people choose films as a kind of entertainment.
When it comes to educational values, people are capable of gaining knowledge by watching films. Firstly, viewers have been using movies as a way to learn foreign languages. People have multiple chances to acquire new vocabulary and improve their listening skills through conversations in films. They can also imitate how the actors and actresses talk to like sharpen their speaking level. I, for example, often watch English films which not only do entertain me, but also strengthen my English skills. There are numerous of new words in an episode, so to get clearly the plot of the film, I have to look up words which improve my English a lot. Besides, movies with educational values are the greatest learning tool for people, especially for students. For instance, students often learn historical inactively, they just learn about events with numbers and words but they cannot imagine how wars exactly happened in the past. Therefore, if teachers let students see historical films and documentaries, students will understand lessons effectively. Thus, there is an obvious link between movies and educational values.
In conclusion, for the aforementioned reasons, I firmly believe that movies cannot be perfect without educational values.
