Bài IELTS Task 2 17/05/2014 - Some children can learn more efficiently by watching tv. Therefore, children should watch tv regularly both in school and at home. Do you agree or disagree?

Question

It is said that children will learn better when they regularly watch TV so they should watch TV more in school and at home. I disagree with this idea because of some following reasons.

Firstly, watching TV too much brings many harmful effects for kids. This can cause many diseases that harm children’s health. For example, children can have some problems about their eyes while they spend a lot of time in front of screen. The high rate of short-seeing children is an alarm for society about watching TV regularly. Besides, they also suffer from other problems about their back or the status of obese, which is too common now since the big amount of time for watching TV. This bad influence is caused by lack of exercise of children while they focus on most of their time on TV.

Secondly, children can learn more efficiently through many other activities than being in front of TV. For instance, school can organize camps to help children learn many other soft skills. This can connect kids with nature and they will observe many things around them. Besides, this activity also contributes to boost their creativity through many outdoor exercises in camping time. Children can be encouraged to think about their own games and will play with other kids. So it is easy to see that children can be learned more through other useful activities than watching TV.  

In conclusion, I believe that children should do other activities to learn more effectively instead of watching TV too much in school and at home.
