Question

The line graph illustrates the the figure elderly people aged 65 and over from 1940 to 2040 in three countries.
Overall, the elderly of three different countries will increase over 80 years. In addition, the senior citizens of Japan are the lowest almost all the time surveyed.
In the 1940 to 2000 period, the figure for elderly people aged 65 and over in the USA increased significantly from just under 10% to around 13 %. While as, the figure for Sweden was lower, at about 7% and just under 15% respectively. During the same years, there was a steady decline in the proportion of Japan, at just under 5%.
From 2020 to 2040, Japan is predicted to see the most dramatic change in 2040. This figure is likely to reach the highest point, about 26%. It is expected that the figure elderly people who aged 65 and over in Sweden will fluctuate approximately 25%. Compared to about 23% of Americans is expected to be lower.

In the 1940 to 2000 period, the figure for elderly people aged 65 and over in the USA increased significantly from just under 10% to around 13 %. While as, the figure for Sweden was lower, at about 7% and just under 15% respectively. During the same years, there was a steady decline in the proportion of Japan, at just under 5%.

-------> In 1940, 13% of American was 65-year-old or over, while the figures for Sweden and Japan were 7% and about 4% respectively. Over the following 60 years, the USA and Sweden saw a significant rise in the proportion of elderly people in their population. By contrast, a declining number of senior citizens to nearly 5% can be seen in the Japanese population.
