some people believe that schools only teach children subjects which are beneficial to their future career and therefore other subjects such as music and sports are not important. to what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, whether children only should focus on studying subjects which are necessary for their future occupations, such as math, literature, computer science or history, or additionally study other subjects such as sports and music remains a source of controversy for most of their parent. In my opinion, meanwhile main subjects may bring a large amount of useful thing for children’s future jobs, I also believe that other subjects play an important role for them.
On the one hand, I would agree that main subjects are very important for children and bring them amount of benefit to their future career. Firstly, children might have good careers if they study well main subjects. In fact, according to education system of countries, students often have to pass exams which often include main subjects to register all most of universities or colleges. Thanks to having college degrees, they can apply for good jobs which will bring them higher quality of working environment or have more promotion opportunities than others. Secondly, focusing only on main subjects also may help children have necessary knowledge or skills for your future jobs. For example, understanding local and world history is very beneficial for a tour guide. Another example, studying computer science may help officers to easily apply development of technology for their works. Therefore, they may improve more efficiently the quality of their jobs than others.
On the other hand, I also believe that music and sports also play necessary role for children. One of reasons is that these subjects are one of the useful entertainment worlds for children. In fact, after stressful lessons, students can relax or discharge pressure through singing a funny song or playing sports. Therefore, they can feel more comfortable and better and focus on well other lessons. Another reason is that thanks to studying music and sport subjects for children, schools may discover talents and have plans to nurture and develop them. For example, there are a big number of good football players who were discovered when they were high school students in Vietnam such as Vinh Le Cong who reached the best Vietnamese football player award in 2007 or Trung Thanh Nguyen in 2010.
In conclusion, I would argue that besides teaching main subjects, schools also should teach others such as music or sports.
