The table shows the global market share for different brands of mobile phone market in the years of 2005 and 2006.

Overall, three manufacturers –Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson— have their percentages of market share increased compared to other companies. Nokia always has the higher proportion in both 2005 and 2006.

In one year, the market share for Nokia increased nearly 3%, from 32.5% to 35%. While for Motorola, the company climbed from 17.7% to 21.1%. The percentage for Sony Ericsson manufacturer increased slightly lower than Nokia and Motorola, from 6.3% to 7.4%.


In contrast to the three manufacturers above, many other companies decreased in market share. For other companies that are not listed, while their percentage in 2005 was 19.2%, it ended up with 16.2% in 2006. Samsung’s market share decreased slightly less than other companies, from 12.7% to 11.8% respectively. Similar to the L.G Company, only 0.4% was dropped from 2005 to 2006.
