Some educationalists think that a programme of international exchange sisits will offer various benefits for teenager school students.
Do you think the advantages of it outweigh the disadvantages?
Some specialists of teaching consider that student exchange programme between countries brings many benefits for their student. Personally, despite some disadvantages, I believe that the advantages of it outweigh the disadvantages.
There are two major benefits that students will achieve when they participate in the exchange. Firstly, the youth of the exchange programme will get to experience life in another country. For example, for adapting to a new environment, students need to make foreign friends and communicate regularly with them so as to understand their culture. Besides they can take part in extracurricular activities that they will gain great practical experiences in the lifetime. Secondly, when students have to communicate frequently with foreign friends that will help them expand their language skill. For instance, students tend to choose countries where English is widely spoken and classes are taught in English that they can develop their English skill. Because of speaking foreign languages fluently and confidently will enhance the youth employment opportunities in the future.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of international student exchange programme which make them feel anxious. They are usually not cheap and depend on the exchange program in which students participate. When students live and learn abroad in the first, they can feel culture shock. This is a common experience when individuals live in a foreign environment. Causes of culture shock can be the language barrier, the difficulty of communicating in the new country. This requires students must know how adjustment and adaptation.
In conclusion, I believe that the advantages of the exchange programme for the youth are more significant than the disadvantages
