Topic:

Some people think that strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents. Others, however, believe that other measures would be more effective in improving road safety. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Answer:

People have differing views with regard to how to promote road safety. In my view, although strict punishments could be helpful for reducing car accidents in some ways, I believe that other measures also need to be taken.

On the one hand, strict punishment can be seen as one of the most effective methods for alleviating driving problems. First, penalties for dangerous drivers can be act as deterrents, which make people avoid repeating the same offences. People who were imposed punishments such as small fines, license suspension or even prison sentences could alter for the better because they aware of the damages of bad driving habits. In addition, the aim of these punishments is to warn people about the negative consequences of their actions. Therefore, dangerous drivers become more disciplined and alert, and from that they could adhere by the rules more carefully.

On the other hand, I believe that other measures could play a vital role in affording to decrease the rate of road accidents. Firstly, government should educate people properly before they receive the driving license, and that may need to be done in school as a part of extended subjects or more difficult driving exams. If people are equipped with the appropriate awareness of commuting, traffic accidents would no longer be the severe issues. Secondly, safe road design should be taken in consideration. For example, speed bumps or road bends could be added to calm traffic, and speed cameras is another choices to reduce cars that are driven too quickly.

In conclusion, while there are many people that get out of their bad driving habits owing to severe punishments, it is also necessary to have other road safety measures.

People have differing (different/discriminating/discrepant/opposite) views with regard to how to promote road safety. In my view, although strict punishments (prohibitions) could be helpful for reducing car accidents (lessening car accidents) in some ways, I believe that other measures also need to be taken.

On the one hand, strict punishments can be seen as one of the most effective methods for alleviating driving problems. First, penalties for dangerous drivers can be act as deterrents, which make people avoid repeating the same offences. People who were imposed punishments such as small fines, license suspension or even prison sentences could alter for the better because they aware of the damages of bad (severe) driving habits. In addition, the aim of these punishments is to warn (off) people about the negative consequences of their actions. Therefore, dangerous (desperate) drivers become more disciplined and alert, and from that they could adhere by (adhere to/obey/ be obedient to) the rules more carefully.

On the other hand, I believe (am of my opinion/ am in favor of the reality) that other measures could play a vital role in affording to decrease (decreasing/cutting down/limiting) the (noticable/considerable/significant/serious) rate of road accidents. Firstly, (The) governments should educate people properly before they receive the driving license, and that may need to be done in school as a part of extended (selective) subjects (extra-curricular activities) or more difficult driving exams. If people are equipped with the appropriate awareness of commuting, traffic accidents would no longer be the severe issues. Secondly, safe road designs should be taken (come up with/planned) in consideration. For example, speed bumps or road bends could be added to calm traffic(personally I think this expression is too weird and not academic) speed cameras is another choices to reduce cars that are driven ( put people who drive quickly on notice)

In conclusion, while there are many people that get out of their bad driving habits owing to severe punishments, it is also necessary to have other road safety measures.

People have differing ( different) views with regards to how to promote( improve)  road safety. In my view, although strict punishments could be helpful for reducing car( should say generally " traffic) accidents in some ways, I believe that other measures also need to be taken.

On the one hand, strict punishment can be seen as one of the most effective methods for alleviating driving ( traffic) problems. First, penalties for dangerous drivers can be act as deterrents, which makes ( can use " warn people against repeating the same faults) people avoid repeating the same offences. People who were imposed punishments such as small(slight) fines, license suspension or even prison sentences could alter for the better (good) because they are( cum be aware of nha )aware of the damages of bad driving habits. In addition, the aim of these punishments is to warn people about the negative consequences of their actions. Therefore, dangerous drivers become more disciplined and alert, and from that they could adhere by the rules more carefully.

On the other hand, I believe that other measures could play a vital role in affording to ( you should just use " to " or " in order to" or " so as to " )decrease the rate of road accidents. Firstly, government(s) should educate people properly before they receive the driving license, and that may need to be done in(at) school as a part of extended subjects or more difficult driving exams. If people are equipped with the appropriate awareness of commuting, traffic accidents would (will) no longer be the severe issues. Secondly, safe road design( you should say " the quality of road " ) should be taken in consideration. For example, speed bumps or road bends could be added to calm traffic, and speed cameras is (are)  another choices to reduce cars that are driven too quickly.

In conclusion, while there are many people that ( there is no need to use this word) get out of their bad driving habits owing to severe punishments, it is also necessary to have other road safety measures.
