Modern communication mean that it is no longer necessary to write letters. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people claim that it is no longer necessary to write letter these days since modern communications develop dramatically. From my point of view, I do not completely agree with this opinion.

In fact, modern communications are of great importance in our daily lives due to two main reasons. Firstly, they help us to send messages quickly just after a few minutes. It certainly does not take you much time to make a phone call or to send an email. Moreover, when you use high-tech devices to communicate with people, you may easily correct your mistakes without leaving traces. For example, when you type one wrong word in your email, you can delete it immediately to retype the right ones, and your recipient will not know anything about this.

However, traditional communicating ways such as writing letters should not be forgotten, since they surely have a number of advantages. In details, writing by hands forces you to be precise and careful when choosing words. One more thing, sending  letters is a good way to stay on someone's mind over a long period of time. Needless to say, a letter can be a precious memento in the future, in case it has a great influence on who receives it.

In conclusion, although modern ways of communicating play a crucial role in our society, it is really important to us to keep handwritten letters alive.
