Some people say that young people learn useful skills by playing electronic and computer games. Others say that young people who play electronic and computer games are wasting their time.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Many people, the youth in particular, enjoy playing video games. While there are some benefits to spend time on electronic and computer games, I would argue that in most cases it has more negative effects on human society than positive.

On the one hand, video games are both entertaining and educational. It is common knowledge that playing computer games is an extremely effective measure for people to relax after a long day of hard work and study, as a result of transporting into the sound and the vivid images of the games instead of harsh reality. Consequently, gamers are provided plenty of opportunities to improve concentration and reflection as well. In addition, video games have been proven to affect positively on human education. Students can increase skills in math, science, cooperation and decision-making as well as learn experiences from games to create individual motivation and tend not to easily give up when coping with any problem.

On the other hand, it is an indisputable fact that gamers who are always immersing in the virtual world of video games waste a lot of their time as well as spend lots of money on paying for card or right to have access to them. On top of that, most video games seem to be entertaining rather than educational, since they encourage children attempting to achieve better score in order to reach higher level on games. Under these circumstances, those efforts are responsible for their truancy as well as lack of sleep, which has negative effects on public health along with the social development.

For the reason mentioned above, it seems to me that the positive effects of video games are outweighed by the potential dangers.
