Some people believe that the higher a product is priced, the more likely it is that people will want to buy it. To what extent does price influence potential buyers? What other factors influence people to buy a product?

It is true that people tend to consider the price of products before making a purchase. Although I am of the opinion that the price has a great impact on consumers, there are many elements which contributes to the decision of buyers.

At the outset, there is a common belief that when people select a product, the top priority is how much does it cost. If the price is incompatible with consumers’ income, they cannot afford to pay for those goods. The cost of real estate in Vietnam a couple of years ago is a typical example. While the monthly salary of citizens is approximately $300, an apartment cost over $50000, which individuals are likely to find alternative ways such as a hiring house. In case that products with cheap price, buyers might consider that why it is cheaper than the same products. Therefore, they can take the view that the quality of goods is good enough for health, environment or humans being. Chinese goods with low price in Vietnamese market is a clearly illustration of that case, which Vietnamese consumers tend to avoid using them because of the inferior quality.

Apart from above arguments, there are other factors that buyers might consider when they order products. Firstly, what consumers tend to view on before purchasing is the trademark of products. By taking a look at the trademark, people would have full of information about what it is through Internet. Thus, they believe in quality of goods, and it is against counterfeit products. Secondly, there is no doubt that the personal factor exerts highly influence on consumers. Naturally, people have different characteristics, which affects on decision when ordering any things. To illustrate, because of different hobbies, it is easy to understand that my wife choses red shoes whereas her sibling loves the blue one when they go shopping.

In conclusion, I agree with the notion that price mainly affects to consumers, and I can be argued that other elements have significant impacts on what people buy.
