Purchasing products has long been viewed as an indispensable activity of the modern society today. It is believed that people nowadays tend to consume more economical goods. The following essay will analyze pros and cons of this popular phenomenon.

To begin with, there are various benefits related to this situation. Firstly, it is obvious that using cheaper products supports people to save money. In other words, people getting into trouble with financial term usually prefer to use goods with lower prices or products suiting their pocket and they seem to be satisfied with items that have both reasonable costs and different categories. Hence, cheaper merchandises will be a wise choice of all people. Equally importantly, there is no doubt that meeting the human needs also has a strong influence on this common trend. To be more specific, we now live and work in a modernization-based society, therefore, the variety of goods and lower-price products is always the number one priority of the whole community and of course, economical products will be proved their strengths in the market in gratifying the rising demands.

However, this trend is not totally free from drawbacks. A main problem of this situation is that the qualities of these products do not reach people’s expectation. This means that the terrible qualities of cheap goods have a negative impact on people’s health. Evidence reveals that people pay more attention to the cheap cost products and ignore their real value and this is the root cause of some serious diseases such as cancer or poisoning food. Besides, we cannot deny the fact that there is an existence of the excessive consumerism and reckless spending habits of people these days because they just focus on the quantity and buy goods for interests.
