Public transport is essential but problematic. Describe some of the problems connected to public transport and suggest some solutions.

It is believed that public transport plays a fundamental role in resolving the traffic congestion while others argue that public transport usage contains a wide range of problems that should be tackled. This essay will discuss some problems and suggest some feasible solutions.

One of the first problems is its inconvenience. A typical example is buses which always run on fixed schedule, which diminishes alternatives for people to opt for. Gradually, this leads to a comparative situation, with some personal vehicles being more popular and public transport progressively being abandoned. Another major problem is the deterioration of service. Many buses, for instance, do not run on time in the central streets because there are numerous stops, which damages users’ punctuality in their work and study.

It is the government that needs to take measures to ameliorate such problem. Firstly, public transport service must be improved, which could be achieved by providing more buses at the municipal areas, for example. With a numerous amount of public transport running on the flexible timetable in which the interval between the previous bus and the later one is short, people will soon start to use it as a main means of transport. Another possible attempt could be made is to increase tax revenue to car owners. Undoubtedly, not only would such a step inhabit car owners from using their personal vehicles, but people might also be great contributors to protect the planet in the long run.

In conclusion, public transport remains some typical problems although it inevitably makes a substantial contribution to solving the traffic jam. A small action from the government to improve the quality of public transport can make the current situation better.
