Overpopulation of urban areas has led to numerous problems.

A modern trend of settling in urban cities is posing a question how to deal with overpopulation. This concern always results in increasing air pollution which should be strictly limited by both the intervention of government and individuals.
One easy-to-know consequence of mega city is air pollution. In Beijing, the level of air pollution has been many times higher than safe zone. Citizens have to wear masks on streets and in some high time, students are allowed not to go to school. In Ho Chi Minh City, vehicles fumes make people get poisoned in peak hours and exhausted in congestion. Solutions to this air problem should be discussed and carried out as soonest to secure the heath of citizens.
Governments in populous cities may decrease air pollution efficiently by focusing on urban planning. It is necessary to build suitable infrastructures such as overpass bridges and high ways and utilize public vehicles including tramway, metro, and bus. Besides, should cities have many large parks in different areas, the atmosphere will be cleaned. Strong and impactful actions from officials are keys to help protect air.
Each individual is affected by surrounding environment and responsible for maintaining a high quality living condition. Instead of using motorbikes or cars which are accounted for the release of a large amount of carbon dioxide, riding bikes are obviously appreciated. In daily activities, local people should be aware of the number of plastic bags used and the ways of garbage classification. Thanks to these minor but powerful good habits, citizens are able to act against air pollution.
Overpopulation is always a big concern of urban cities due to its negative effect on aerial quality. Relevant traffic and construction designs and people’s awareness of using environmentally friendly vehicles and wastes are what governors and citizens can do to prevent air pollution.
