In developing countries, children in rural communities have less access to education. Some people believe that the problem can be solved by providing more schools and teachers, while others think that the problem can be solved by providing computers and Internet access. Discuss both views and give your own opinion
In recent years, children living in remote areas are not fully given priority to be provided high-quality educational systems. While some people claim that schools and teachers are necessarily provided to children in rural areas, others believe computers and internet access are more importantly needed. Both of these solutions will be analysed in full detail.
On the one hand, there are reasons why some people appreciate the importance of the Internet and computers to children in rural communities. First, computers and the Internet play a huge role to broaden children’s horizon about many aspects of life as the Internet contains an endless amount of humanity knowledge. Second, as children living in remote areas might do not have financial budget to invest on buying a computer or even installing the Internet so the lack of computing skills is inevitable. Therefore, by providing computers and Internet access , under- privileged children’s techological knowledge would be improved and advanced so they have more employment opportunities and be more competitive in the future as technology especially information technology is extremelly demanding in modern society.
nOn the other hand, some people prefer the idea that schools and teachers are more indispensable for children in rural areas. First, teachers and schools would never be replaced regardless of the advance of technology. More specifically, teachers understand children’s ablitiy and appropriately drawing out and addressing teaching method while computers is only comprised of programmes which have already been installed and hardly change to adapt with children’s study progression. Second, schools and teachers play an essential role in forming a productive study environment by interacting and discussing between teachers and students as well as limiting children’s distraction as opposed to studying through computers therefore children’s concentration would be stimulated and the outcomes would be more positive.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, it seems to me that schools and teachers are more necessarily to be provided in order to alleviate educational quality in deprived regions.
