A person's wealth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust , no longer important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinon?
Along with the development of the society, people nowadays have tendency of meeting or making new friends. Two things everyone is impressed by other people are social status and material possessions. Some people say that old-fashioned values are no longer seem crucial in modern life. To me, before rendering my opinion, I think we should take glance at the problems on both sides.
It is undeniable that in our current society, a person's worth is judged because his or her social status and material possessions are good. To start with, it is not hard to see many people are born in good social condition. They are the person who are respected from many other people around them. Moreover, when they require someone to work for them, thet person immediately obeys their orders without considering their minds. Apart from social status, material wealth is also a factor that make a large contribution to one person's judgement. People normally prefer paying more attention to other's appealling appearance or beautiful dressing and think that that person is good as well as highly appreciated. For example, in the party, we can realise many younger generations dress up in luxurious clothes with exorbitant jewelries. It forces people to admire them based on their appearabces.
However, old-fashioned values such as honours, kindness and trust which also play a vital role in our life. On the one hand, kindness, honour and trust are three characters we need to have. Though one person is good-looking in peole's eyes, his or her charater is not reliable and selfish. Apparently, he or she is not worthy to everyone. Or it is true when many beautiful girls or handsome boys who always tell a lie with their parents or old generations, they can not receive reliability from other people.
In conclusion, people are always highly appreciated if they have good social status and their life is prosperous. Nevetheless, we should not judge a person on their physical appearance, instead of this, old- fashioned judgements are really necessary in modern life. As a youngster, I believe that the person who are kind and reliable will be respected mor than those who are stuck in their material wealth.
