TOPIC: Many schools are arranging unpaid work for teenagers to get some work experience in institutions or companies, because it is beneficial for students as well as institutions. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

 

 

Reckoning the cruciality of work experience in students’ future career, many schools have involved a number of extracurricular activities that include actual working days in factories and companies as the supplement for  the lack of real practice in school s’ academic curriculum. However, students do not get paid for their working days. In my opinion, I partially agree with this method due to some reasons. 

To begin with, field trips in factories and institutions are extremely effective lessons. Hence, participating in actual work in companies is priceless to every student. Students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in school into real situations, which further solidifies their academic knowledge. By doing so, students are able to observe and gain a lot of skills that books have not covered. Moreover, spending days working in companies mentally strengthens students for their career. Therefore, they do not get intimidated by the awkwardness on the first days of the jobs, which boost their confidence and assertiveness in the working environment. 

Yet, making students doing unpaid work seems a bit unfair. Salary is not a significant matter to all students. However, it is a decisive catalyst that considerably motivate them to do the assigned work. Having earned money gives students the sense of accomplishment. Thus, the result of their performance is very fruitful. 

In conclusion, undoubtedly, field trips in companies are beneficial to all students as they are equipped with the first-hand experience that is very useful to their career. Additionally, students deserve the money worth their effort.
