The line graph illustrates the oil price per barrel from 1973 to January 2009. In general, the graph indicated a fluctuating trend over the period of time,

To specify, in 1073, one oil barrel was sold at approximately 5 dollars and slightly increased several year later.  There was a rise the peak of anout 40 dolloar per oil barrel in 1980. The oil sale per barrel witnessed a gradual downward trend from about 35 dollars in 1982 to 115 dollars in 1985. There was a slightly increase in the oil price to around 30 dollars per barrel in 2000. Afterward, there was a considerable growth in the oil sale to over 140 dollars per barrel in 2008. However, it rapidly decreased to 45 dollars per barrel in January, 2009.
