Topic: Some people believe that crime is a result of social problems and poverty, others think that crime is a result of bad person’s nature. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In recent years, there is an considerable increase of crime rate, which people are concerning about, so they want to know the causes make a person choose to turn into a career of crime. Many people think that crime is a result of the bad nature of some individuals. To my way of thinking, I agree with those who think that it is largely a consequence of social issues and poverty.
It is a belife that a person’s nature is determined whether or not they become a criminal. Firstly, some argument is that a cruel who commit crime easily than a kind person. For instance, a child bullying other boy or girls in school may become a violent criminal in future. Secondly, lazy and greedy people commit crime to get what they want , so that they seek to acquire easy money without working hard. The fact that a number of young people choose to steal from others, instead of working hard to make an honest living. Undoutedly, these strong reasons show that almost people who were born bad nature break the law.
Nevertheless, it seems to me that social issues and poverty are the main causes behind crime. There are many problems in society that leads to the crime rate increases significantly. A clear example of this is unemployment which makes people resorting to crime because they can not simply find a job. Needless to say the number of criminal rises in many countries over recent decades. Additionally, poverty also leads to an increase in crime. The fact that people who do not have enough money in order to make ends meet, they will choose illegal activities such as stealing or robbing just to support themselves.
All in all, although both views might be exactly in some cases, I definitely think that the principal causes of crime are a result of social problems and poverty.
