It must be said that men and women both have made a very significant contribution in all areas. It is particularly true that men and women have different strength and weakness to be suitable to certain jobs.

Base on this point, some would argue that there should be a gender-filter to divide males and females for different vacancies over labour market. However, in my view, to encourage gender equality, sexes should not be a must-have factor for recruitment.

Due to stronger physical strength, men are more suitable on heavy-industry related jobs. Construction and mechanic, for example, tend to be done by men. It could also be argued that several jobs requiring patient and caring, nursing or teaching, for example, are usually female-dominated occupations.

Nevertheless, manifold jobs, which people used to believe that it is only adequate for men are can be occasionally performed by women. Take for instance, Kate Bergeron, vice president, hardware engineer at Apple. She started working as a mechanical engineer then joined Mac design team. She was promoted to vice vice president on October 2014. It is a proven fact that women are capable of doing just about anything in which men can and gender is not an issue preventing women from chasing their success.

In conclusion, men and women may possess different skills. Certain jobs are more suitable for men. There are also certain jobs where women perform better than men do. To what extent, I believe gender is not a main specification for employment. Recruiter should evaluate a candidate based on their performance and the suitability to the job instead. This will ensure that men and women have the same rewarding opportunities in labour market.
