Overall, the figure for thefts in all four nations fluctuated over the period of 10 years. Furthermore, Great Britain saw the highest remain during the period shown.

In the 1990-1993 period, the number of thefts per thousand vehicles in Britain fluctuated, although it always remained above 15 thefts. Moreover, in the following 3 years, the Britain thefts increased sharply to about 19%, which was its highest point during the 9-year period. Throughout the remainder of the period, there was a gradual decline in the number of thefts, which fell to 16% by the year 1999. France also saw a marked fluctuation from 1990-1995, and then gradually dropped to 6% by 1999.

From 1990 to 1996, the number of Swedish thefts increased slightly to exactly 12%. Throughout the remainder of the period, its number remained above 10% and then saw a significant rise by the year 1999. Canadian experienced a gradual decline, falling to 6% in 1993.
