Many children these days have an unhealthy lifestyle. Both schools and parents are responsible for solving this problem. To what extent do you agree with this statement?
Lifestyle plays a vital role in getting a good health and lengthening the life expectancy. However, it is an undeniable fact that a large number of kids nowadays have an unhealthy lifestyle. With regard to this issue, I completely agree that both schools and parents are responsible for dealing with.
Above of all, the state that children are not active and own a sedentary lifestyle still exists popularly, which even seems to become more serious in some Asian areas. For example, they appear not to go anywhere beyond four walls due to the pressure coming from their study. They are forced to get high scores in school and accordingly get stick in their assignment, homework, books, references and extra classes. Those little boys and girls, consequently, have little free time for other tasks. It is not strange to come across a kid with thick glasses bearing a huge and heavy bag in their back. Another example, few children can eat a variety of foods consist of fish, meat, eggs, vegetable… They seem to only consume what they like such as sweet, fried foods, carbonated beverages instead of being aware of advantages of a balanced and nutritious diet. As a result, some kids are obese while others suffer from malnutrition.
No one rather than schools and parents directly solve this problem. Firstly, parents become visual examples for their children to follow. Kids are more likely to imitate how adults present, so that parents live healthily seems to become an efficient educating method. Secondly, parents pay attentions to their children’s behaviors and control them if necessary. For example, when kids depend too much on internet without communicating in real life, parents helps them get rid of such bad behaviors. Thirdly, schools should reduce the studying pressures and limit the number of hours per day for study. Instead, it is essential to make some demands and rules regarded to time for sports, relaxing as well as outdoor activities. Fourthly, lessons concerning with good behaviors, a balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle are regularly provided for children, and it is better for them to practice subsequently in both home and schools.
In addition, national media also contribute to increase people’s awareness of this issue. Thus, last but not least, they would rather recommend highly parents and teachers to take care of the benefit of an active lifestyle in the full growth of children than focus too much on the stereotype of a child with high scores and studying through night and day.
In conclusion, it is indeed fact that children are considered as the foundation of the future development. Therefore, not only parents and schools, but also the whole society is responsible for shaping a healthy lifestyle for them.
