There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays?

It is apparently that music  genre has never been so complex and multiform. As a human, we all have a demand for music for a couple of reason. However, I have a strong belief that internaltional music is almost nothing compared to traditional music.

Music, which is a work of art of composers, a combination of seven notes, pace, rhythm, has an uncanny ability to inhabit someone’s mind, thus easing human’s souls by comforting sounds. By music therapy, psychologists has been gaining a range of achivements in curing mental illnesses without using medicines. Besides, music is also a tool for people to express and arouse their feelings in various manner, especially for infants, children and the disabled. Or it’s common understanding that people listen to music to have some sense of calm.

When it comes to traditional music and international music, I would claim that trational music is far more valuale than international music. The actual situation is that producers only create internaltional music for commercial purposes. Thanks to modern music, businessman has gained huge profit from people who is addicted to its catchy melody. However, traditional music reflect a culture, a history or lifestyle of a country or a nation. Traditional styles reminds us of the custom, the legacy  and the values that our ancestor has protected and passed it our generation.

In conclusion, life without music is uneventful and unimaginative, and I believe that traditional music should be given full appreciation and preservation rather than international music.
