It can not be denied that today’ s young people study harder with the pressures from their family and society. It is thought that non-academic subjects ( eg: physical education , cookery ) should be removed from syllabus so that children can wholly concentrate on academic-subjects. From my point of view , they can help define a person and people learn a lot about themselves by participating in activities such as how well they handle situations, anger problems and maturity .
First of all, non-academic subjects use physical activities as a means to help people have good emotion, fitness, knowledge and attitudes that contribute to their development and well-being .It is now also realized that there is a close connection between the body and the mind . Therefore, if the body is active , the mind is active too. Proof of this can be easily found among children who are inactive physically are usually also mentally lazy . Thus, these subjects can be a good solution to get rid of boredom as it provides refreshment to the student physically and mentally.
Secondly , considering the fact that children who actively participate in team sport , have high self-confidence , which is very important for the development of person’s character . Children learn how to work as a team member , organize themselves . This improves as a child’s overall communication skills and the ability to get along with different kinds of people .In other words , they become indispensable to the development of a good character and personality.
Finally , these non-academic subjects help gain knowledge about the overall aspects of health . In today’s world , several healthy like obesity , anemia , bulimia , and even diabetes, are rampant among teenagers. Teacher can promote the benefit of healthy and nutritious food and discourage them for having junk food by highlighting their bad effects. Therefore , these subjects play a major role that. children can deal with at the age of puberty ,especially healthy problems.
