There is an increasing number of people who change their career and place of residence several times in their lives. Is it a positive or negative development?
The recent years have witnessed the rapidly increasing number of those who frequently change their vocation and accommodation. Whether the phenomenon is a positive or negative tendency attracts numerous controversies. Although there remains some valid arguments to the bright side, I personally believe that its disadvantages far outnumber the advantages.
It is an indisputable fact that changing career and status of residence several times results in a variety of shortcomings. First of all, people have to face and deal with many difficulties when they start a new career or move to a strange places, especially towards unadaptable ones. Habituating with other jobs or getting harmony with various people from different cultures could serve as typical examples. In addition, it is hard for employees to get promoted when they continuously change their occupation since hardly anybody could be skilled at any fields without a long-term experience. Last but not least, an unstable life has detrimental effect on not only an individual but also surrounding people, particularly their own families. Children could get troubles because of regularly transferring their schools such as influencing their educational progress or their friend relationship.
On the other hand, some people argue that the movement would bring them more opportunities and challenges. Not being satisfied with present situation, they insist on looking for new places where they could get a much well-paid job or a better living environment to settle down. Nevertheless, as every coin has two sides, the illusion of perfect future leads them to make various changes which take them a lot of endless efforts as well as money and time.
By way of conclusion, I reaffirm my position that regularly changing profession and accommodation would bring about more drawbacks than benefits. It is much less likely for both individuals and their families to get a ball rolling on a new life in different places.
