People have different views about the importance of extended family. In my perception, extended family is not necessary to gain the support of members of family nowadays because education and career are given the top priority. 

On the one hand, the extended family is important due to the increase in grandparents who retired take care of grandchildren. Some parents do not want their child to go to nursery soon, others maybe not have enough finance to expenditure. So, they find the assistance of members of the family like grandparents, in case both father and mother go to business. Studies have shown that in 2022, the number of grandparents who must raise their grandchildren is going to increase threefold, in comparison with the same period last year. This study demonstrates that people can take the weight off their shoulders in the light of supportive family members.

Nevertheless, nowadays, the younger generation places emphasis on education and career, so extended family is not pivotal. They tend to leave their hometowns to go to a new environment with a view to seeking educational and career opportunities. Given the recent increase in immigrants in Canada, twenty percent of the total population in this country is people who stem from other countries. It is noticeable that more than seventy percent of these immigrant numbers are to access by far better educational system and to foster career chance. Even though the younger generation does not live with their family, they are also willing to emigrate.

To sum up, while it is apparent that family members help relieve pressure and share other tasks with us, it is undeniable that a part of successful and role of extended family in people's everyday lives has shrunk.
