The line chart illustrates the recycling rates of four types of material in a country between 1982 and 2010.

Overall, there was an increase in the percentage of recycling rates in all 4 figures, with paper & cardboard the highest, followed by glass containers. While reprocessing of aluminium cans witnessed the most significant change, plastics recycled were the lowest and rising only slightly over the period.

In 1982, about 65% of paper & cardboard was recycled. This figure fluctuated before reaching a peak of 80% by the end of 1990. From then on, however, it kept moving downward steadily to only 70% by 2010. The proportion of  glass containers started at 50% in 1982, after which experienced a decline to 40% in 1990, before ending the period at 60%.

Aluminium cans were first reprocessed in 1986, starting at around 5%. From that moment on, this figure climbed rapidly and by 2010, it had risen to 45%. On the other hand, the plastics did not enter the recycling machine until the early 1990s and grew constantly but rather slowly, rising from about 2% to approximately 10% - only about 8% over the period
