The line graphs described the fluctuations in the number of foreign students and local students in Australian universities from 2001 to 2010.

Overall, It can be seen from the graph that there was an upward trend in overseas student number over a ten year period, while there was a steadiness of local students.

Initially, commencingly, the number of international students and the number of local students were the same at under 20000. During 2 years, the local students was highest by around 22000, while the overseas students increased slightly. After that, Between 2003 and 2010, the local students fluctuated within a narrow margin. But at the same time, international students increased constantly and reached to hit a peak of more than 40000.

As regard total people, the international students started at 20000 when the local students stood at 40000. Over a ten year period, foreign students increased significantly and peaked at more than 80000 in 2010. By contrast, Between 2001 and 2007, the toaly number of the local students climed considerably. After that, over 4 years, the figure fluctuted gradually.
