The two maps compare the layout of an existing small town named Islip with a proposed site design for its innovation.

Overall, the main change for the centre involves the addition of a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park and two new housings. The Islip centre will be able to accomodate a considerably larger number of people engaging in more activities.

In the present layout, there are two rows of shops which were seperated by a main road running straight from one entrance to another. However, it is expected that a new dual carriageway will be constructed to create a circle covering almost the whole structure.

In the new design, a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park and a new housing will be built in the North of the centre, replacing an area of the countryside. There is a path for pedestrians only, with a range of shops on the side which parallels the path. Behind the shops, a housing will be moved to the South West, and the park will be smaller so that a new housing can be built next to it. Outside the circle, the school will be broadened a bit and the housing will be moved to the East.
