Traffic is an adverse and seemingly unsolvable problem in the world today. Cities are besieged with the spectre of traffic which traces its roots from heavy volume of vehicles on the road. Some people opine that reducing the need to travel is the best way to address traffic gridlock. In this writer’s opinion, this approach has its demerits.

The theory is patently weak and fallible prompting this writer to refute the same. There are many jobs that can not progress through the Internet such as doctor, nurse, engineer. They have to visit their workplaces and meet people to implement their responsibilities. Equivalently, dispatch staffs will still have to be on the road to deliver merchandise. In addition to this, many professional courses require specialist studies and laboratory works, correspondingly an online course cannot meet such demands.

The matter raised above by way of an objection is further aggravated by the development of health problems. If somebody is confined in one place, ailments would flourish. Diabetes, obesity, hypertension, weak eyesight are representative examples.

Another school of thought claims that lessening the demand of transportation is a possible execution, however, this line of reasoning is devoid of basis and logic. A remedy for this dilemma is emboldening people to take public transportation. By this way, the traffic volume on the road will decrease and traffic congestion will dwindle.

Subsequently weighing all the aforementioned, it is apparent that the Internet is not the key rationale for disentangling traffic issues in cities in this day and age.
