Nowadays, young people admire media and sports stars though they often do not set a good example. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Today, although media and sports stars often do not set a good model, young people still tend to admire them. Personally, I think this trend has several drawbacks. However, I still believe it is also a positive development.
On the one hand, I suppose that media and sports stars have some bad aspects which young people and society should not follow. Firstly, becoming stars means they have a more redundant life which makes them more easily acquainted with stimulants such as alcohol and tobacco. Secondly, many people choose scandals to be famous. For example, they post status or upload videos which contain bad content and affect the political and economic systems of the country.
On the other hand, I assume that this trend has many benefits, so teenagers should admire celebrities. Because they have many talents and much knowledge, they bring achievements for their country. For example, in my country, Anh Vien athletic who is well-known for swimming, won many awards in international competitions. Thanks to her, foreigners know more about sports and culture in my country. Moreover, famous people also have a lot of money, which helps them often take part in different fundraising campaigns such as scholarships for the children of the poor families. In addition, many stars were born in the farm families and had a difficult life. To become famous, they also had to work hard and try their best which creates success stories and motivations for many children.
Nowadays, celebrities who often do not show a good example are admired by young people. Personally, I think that this idea exists in both positive and negative development.
