What do you think were the advantages and disadvantages of living in a small community

The community in the modern world is different from its in the past, because the modern community becomes larger. Back to the past, we will find out the advantages and the disadvantages to being members in a small community.
   I think there were three benefits. Firstly, people in the past could easily meet and communicate with their neighbors, so they could build a strong relationships. Also, when they were busy, their neighbors could give them a hand to deal with some works such as: looked after their children, kept an eye on their house,... And thirdly, people spent more time on outdoor activities which makes them healthier.
   In my view, the disadvantages mainly come from the lack of space. When everyone knew everyone else, people did not have enough private space. And in teenagers' opinion, the curiosity about the world makes them more likely to meet as many people as they can. However, the minium numbers of persons in a small community in the past could not provide them with the opportunities to have new friends.
   Finally, in my opinion, a small community is a better choice. When people live in a small group, they are more likely to care about each other, so they are never lonely or stressful. A small community will shorten the distance between people.
