Due to the advent of technology, today, distant and once isolated, remote areas such as Antarctica are approachable for people with various purposes, including researching and traveling. Both pros and cons of this trend will be discussed thoroughly in this essay.

To begin with, having the chance to discover such anonymous natural places is a huge superiority scientifically and economically. From scientists perspective, this gives them golden opportunity to research and investigate exotic fauna and flora as well as obscure lands and distinctive phenomenals. For example, when coming to the South Pole, biologists can understand profoundly about penguins’ habitats and diets; or they can observe auroras and other North Pole’s exclusive astronomy events. This trend also has commercial benefits as it avails new tourist sites which could be profitable for their primitive nature and distinctive backgrounds.

On the other hands, all of these advantages can be harmful to both human and native environment. The first disadvantage is that being mostly mysterious to human knowledge, these places can be extremely dangerous. For example, there are thousands of poisonous life- threatening animal in tropical areas such as Amazon forest, which make traveling to these places without adequately prepare specific medicines exceedingly risky. Another prejudice is that without consciousness, human activities on these lands can destroy primitive natural habitat of native species there. Constructions, agriculture and recreational businesses might takeover wild animal’s land, thus toss a huge amount of waste and contamination to their food resources, causing their population to decrease.

In conclusion, while the possibility of traveling to remote areas profits majorly humanity in research and business field, it is a risk to travellers’ and native nature’s life.
