Question

The line graph presents information about the number of goods delivered by 4 methods in the period from 1974 to 2002 in the UK.

As can be generally seen from the chart, road occupied all of freight over that period. While goods transported by most of those modes grow up, the number of it was shipped rail remain unchanged after 8 years.

In 1974, the number of goods delivered by water and rail had a same starting point around 40 million tonnes.  While the trend of transporting goods is increased and reached more than 60 after going down at 50 in 1998, the goods were moved by railways witnessed some fluctuations and recover at 40 million tonnes at end this period.

Starting with 70 million tonnes of goods were shipped by road in 1974 showed the importance of this method. Furthermore, this quantities rose steadily and have the highest point approximately 100 million tonnes in 2002. Having the lowest number of goods were carried, the pipeline increasingly popular and just above 30 after 8 years starting from 1997.
