Task 2: Many people believe that the high levels of violence in films today are causing serious social problems. What are these problems and how they could be reduced?

It is claimed that the alarming rates of violent scenes in movies in recent years can cause some considerable issues to the society. In order to minimize negative effects, steps must be taken by not only governments but also families.

High levels of violence in movies currently bring several undesirable impacts to the community. First of all, the criminal rate is quite likely to increase. The main reason is that by watching violent scenes frequently, people become more aggressive and sometimes be obsessed about committing crime. In addition, children’s behavior could be misleading under the influence of violent movies. For example, children who are not mature enough could try to mimic illegal actions in films.

To deal with these problems, some measures could be implemented to mitigate the issues caused by violent content in movies. Initially, one possible way to solve this problem is that governments should enforce a strict rating system so that the violent films are classify to limit the access to it. Another sustainable solution is to educate people on the dangers of violent movies. This would raise public awareness of how important to prevent watching this kind of films. One final suggestion is that parents should have responsibility to ensure that their very young children should not be left to see movies without supervision.

In conclusion, violence in films is currently at high levels. Although creates many harmful social impacts, governments and families should focus their attention to mitigate these serious problems.
