Hello guys, can you check these following sentences whether it is grammatically wrong?

My sentence: Whether studying on television, video and computer games can bring more benefits than negative effects is a controversial issue.

But a guy said it is grammatically wrong, he suggested: whether studying on television, video and computer games WHICH can bring more benefits than negative effects is a controversial issue.

So can you tell me which sentence is correct?

The adjustment is true because you cannot use 2 verbs " can bring " and " is " in one sentence. So you should use " which "before "can bring" instead ^.^

Here is my suggestion for a better version: The issue whether studying on television, video and computer games may bring more benefits or negative effects remains controversial.

Actually the wrong word in your original sentence is "than". You should replace it with "or", then it will be a correct sentence.
