The line graph indicates how the percentage of jobless peopleof the US and Japan varied from March 1993 to March 1999.

 

Overall, the proportion of citizens being out of work in the US followed a fluctuating downward trend in the whole period surveyed, and/while the converse was true for that of Japan.

 

To be specific, the unemployment rates in Japan was witness to vary in an upward trend, with a peak of roughly 5.2 percent in about March 1998, when it surpassed the percentage of jobless people in th US. In the last period given, the figure for Japan declined minimally to reach the high of 5.0 per cent in last year.

 

The rate of people being unemployed in the US, which decreased in a downward trend in the first 5 years to hit the lowest point of above 5.0 percent, experienced/underwent a up and down in the last period.
