Online education is becoming increasingly popular. Many university students are choosing to study online instead of face to face. Do the advantages of distant education outweigh the disadvantages
With the availbility of personal devices combined with the Internet, the number of university students did not enter school at the end of staying at home and learning online. In my opinion, for every plus, there is a minus, the advantages of this trend do not outweigh the disadvantages of that.
In the first place, there is no denying that traditional teaching still holds the most vital position in the education system. To be more precise, when students enter the class and interact with other people, the basic knowledge and skills applied in outdoor life such as communication and social skill, problem-solving ability, team work skill and all-round outlook on the world are trained and developed better compare with staying at home and learning online. In addition, the interaction between the schoolchildren promotes the feeling and emotional improvement to help perfective student’s development including both physical and psychological.
On the other hand, although the educational online holds the merits but also it exists various challenges. One good example for this may be that the payment for the Internet and related modern devices is costly while more and more students can not effort. Especially, children from the poor area. Moreover, lack of sleep and physical exercise from the pressure of learning online creates a heavy burden of studying to students since they have to spend a mount of time to concentrate on the screen of the computers, smart phones or wife devices. This leads to many diseases such as eye problems, obesity, insomnia.
All things considered, it is my firm belief that, the online education achieves various the positive sides in the curriculum, however, there are minuses which need to take into consideration. Thus, the traditional teaching can not take over.
