High school graduates often face a dilemma of whether to go onto higher education or not. While many people consider attending college as the best way to a promising career, some argues that it is necessary to immediately apply for a job after high school.
On the one hand, working right after high school graduation can be beneficial for some reasons. Firstly, students who opt to seek for a job are offered chances of work exposure. It is obvious that working after high school arms young adults with a taste of a particular job, which can provide them with a lot of practical experiences rather than abstract theories. Secondly, some employees nowadays are given opportunities to study without tuition. It is popular that many companies who realize the benefits of training employees are willing to pay for college tuition or even send their staffs abroad to be trained for a professional specialization.
On the other hand, many young people find continuing higher education more appealing due to a variety of job opportunities and skills which can only be given for college graduates. First, after university graduation, each student will receive a bachelor’s degree or diploma which is expected by most recruiters. Obviously, those who have qualifications will probably get a higher paid job than people who do not. Besides, studying at university equips students with essential skills served for their future career. For example, intellectual, interpersonal, communicational and organizational skills can be polished in the university environment more easily than in working environment.
In conclusion, both getting a job right after high school and seeking admission in higher academic institutes have their own advantages, which requires critical thinking of young adults to make their own decisions.
